Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

This policy explains what the Dog Training with Biscuit iOS app (“Biscuit”, “we”) collects, why, and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, email talzvi99@gmail.com.

We don't ask you to create an account

Biscuit has no sign-up, no login and no password. We don't ask for your name, your address or your phone number, and we don't build a profile tied to your real-world identity.

What stays on your device, and in your iCloud

Your dog's profile, training plan, progress, tricks collection and chat with Ask Biscuit are stored on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData). If you are signed in to iCloud, Apple syncs this data to your own private iCloud account so it follows you to a new device. It is stored in your Apple account, not ours — we cannot read it. To stop this, turn off iCloud for Biscuit in your device’s Settings.

Deleting the app removes this data from your device. You can also delete everything the app has stored — your dog's profile, progress and chat history — at any time from Settings → Delete my data inside the app.

What we and our providers collect

Usage and diagnostic data

We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage information: an anonymous identifier, the events you trigger in the app (such as completing a lesson or starting practice), and device and app information (device model, operating system version, app version, language and country). We use this to see what's working, find crashes and decide what to build next. It is not used to identify you personally, we don't run ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

Ask Biscuit

When you use Ask Biscuit, the text you type, your dog's profile and a short conversation summary are sent through our own Cloudflare Worker to Google Gemini, which generates Biscuit's reply. This only happens when you send a message. Biscuit is instructed to point you to a vet or a certified trainer or behaviourist for aggression, bites, health, injury, poisoning or severe anxiety, and we also check messages for warning signs and show a “please see a professional” card. Ask Biscuit is not a substitute for professional advice, and the chat is clearly labelled as AI.

Lesson videos

All lesson videos are real YouTube videos, played inside YouTube's own embedded video player. When you open a lesson, YouTube may collect information about that viewing under its own terms. By using a lesson video you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of that data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Lesson videos are free to watch for everyone; an optional subscription unlocks the rest of the app, such as the daily plan, tricks collection and Ask Biscuit.

Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store. We never see or receive your payment card details — Apple handles the transaction. We use Adapty to verify receipts and manage subscription status, which means Adapty processes your purchase history, a randomly generated app user identifier and basic device information on our behalf.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we may send reminders such as a daily training time, a streak-at-risk nudge or a potty-break timer. You can turn individual notification types off, or all of them, in iOS Settings at any time.

Messages you send us

If you email support or submit feedback, we keep what you send us — including your email address — so we can reply and act on it.

Who else your data goes to

We don't run ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone beyond the providers that make the app work:

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Children

Biscuit is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including the EEA and UK under the GDPR, and California under the CCPA — you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because Biscuit has no account system, the fastest route is Settings → Delete my data inside the app, or deleting the app entirely, which removes everything stored on your device and your iCloud. For anything held by us or our providers, email talzvi99@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

Data retention and security

We keep usage data only as long as it's useful for improving the app, and support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your issue and keep a record of it. Data in transit is encrypted using industry-standard TLS. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect precisely so there is little to expose.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
